New LUMEN publications on Nordic trust culture and Lutheran Theology
LUMEN research in new special issue of Journal of Historical Sociology
Papers from a LUMEN-symposium on the legacy of Lutheran theology in Nordic trust culture have now been published as a special issue of Journal of Historical Sociology. The special issue is edited by LUMEN members Sasja Emilie Mathiasen Stopa (theology) and Gert Tinggaard Svendsen (political science) and asks the question of whether Lutheran theology has influenced the trust culture that is sustaining the Scandinavian welfare states. Focusing on a wide range of different subjects and periods, several other LUMEN members as well as invited guests have contributed to this issue with their take on the overall question. In addition to examining the specific theme of trust culture, the issue also seeks to highlight the interplay between religion and societal development.
